Oh, I was joking! (*sob*) See, one stereotype of anime is the female character who’s rather klutzy, but really likes some guy–and so tries horribly hard in the kitchen to make a meal for him.
The meal ends up being disgusting, and the guy is about to say something when he notices that the gal’s hands are bandaged beyond belief… and so he powers through the food, and says that it’s delicious (usually with tears streaming down his face). This may or may not backfire, in the form of continued meals prepared for him.

I, erm… was just klutzy in the kitchen. Cutting a slice of cheese. With a butter knife. (T_T)
